Purim falls roughly four weeks before Passover and celebrates events from the reign of the Persian Kings Ahasueros. Mordechai, a Jew, overheard a plot against the King, advised his daughter Esther (who was Queen) and thereby saved the Kings life. A new chief Minster Human, after a perceived slight, resolved to exterminate all Jewish people. At the point of putting his plan into execution The King was told of human’s scheme and ordered him to be hanged. He then appointed Mordechai his new Chief Minister and the lives of countless Jews were saved. Purim celebrated this remarkable turn of events.
