This is a low fat, fuss free version of Traditional Jewish Fried Fish. The ingredients are sufficient for 6—8 pieces of fish.
Ingredients
6—8 oz Matzo Meal
6 / 8 Fillets or Steaks of Any White Fish
1 Egg
4 Tbsp Any Flavourless oil
1 Teaspoon Salt
Method
Spread the Matzo Meal in a thin layer on a baking tray and put in the Oven as its heats up togas no.6 (400F, 200C).
Keep an eye on it, and take out when it is a pale golden colour.
Wash and salt the fish, and leave to drain.
Whisk together until blended the oil, egg and salt and put in shallow casserole dish.
Have ready a piece of grease proof paper with the Matzo Meal on it.
Dry each piece of fish thoroughly with a kitchen paper then brush with egg mixture then coat with crumbs.
Arrange side by side on the un-greased tray and cook without turning for 20—25 minutes depending on the thickness.
